Cusco & Machu Picchu Vacation 5 days– Itinerary
Upon arrival into Cusco, You will be met by one of our professional and friendly guide,They will be holding a sign with your ‘last name’ on it. You will be transferred to your comfortable Cusco hotel in the air conditioned comfort of our modern van. Upon arrival to your hotel you will be given a pre-briefing about your upcoming trip and you will be presented with all your vouchers for your upcoming trip. You will have the morning free to relax and acclimatize to the altitude.
HD – City Tour of Cusco
In the afternoon you will be picked up from your hotel for your half day City Tour of Cusco. Our tour will start with a visit to the San Cristobal Plaza where we will enjoy panoramic views of the city. From there we will make our way to the San Pedro Markets where we will soak in the local flavours and learn about the products grown in the area which supply the whole city. Our visit to the Koricancha Temple is an interesting one. This temple in Quechua means ‘Gold Enclosure’ and back in Pre-Colombian times it was completely covered in gold. We will continue on and visit the Santo Domingo Church and then up the cobblestone streets visiting the artisans’ neighbourhood of San Blas stopping by the Inca Roca Palace which today is the Archbishop’s Palace and home of the famous 12 Angled Stone. We will finish our tour visiting the main square in Cusco, After your tour of Cusco you will be transferred back to your hotel in Cusco.

FD – Tour of the Sacred Valley
After breakfast in your hotel you will be picked up for your full day tour of the Sacred Valley of the Incas. We will travel in the air conditioned comfort of our modern van. Along the way we will stop at Awanacancha, a small complex to admire Andean camelids such as Alpacas and Llamas. We will learn about dying techniques from the locals. Later we will explore Pisac Ruins and the Pisac Markets – the biggest arts and crafts markets in South America. We will then enjoy lunch at a local restaurant in Urubamba buffet luch will be served. In the afternoon our tour continues to Ollantaytambo. Ollantaytambo is a small town full of local colour and inhabited since Inca times. We will visit the main temple which was used as an fortress during the Inca resistance. A great place to take some amazing photos, after visiting Ollamtaytambo we go towards Chimcheros where we can appreciate the great contructions of the Incas . At the designated time we will travel by van back to Cusco and transferred back to your comfortable hotel.

FD – Travel to Aguas Calientes
After breakfast you will be picked up for your full day travel to Aguas Calientes Town which is on the foot of Machu Picchu Mountain. You will be transferred to the train station in Ollantaytambo where we will embark the train and enjoy a 2 hour magical train ride unfold before us. We will take in Andean Mountain terrain as we journey through to lush tropical jungle. Upon arrival into Aguas Calientes, you will be met your guide and he will take you to have luch and then to your comfortable hotel. Your luggage will be delivered to your hotel Free afternoon and evening to enjoy in Aguas Calientes town at your leisure. Overnight in Aguas Calientes (you can visit the natural hotspring).
Day 4 Machu Picchu Site
Breakfast in the hotel we will board the first bus up to the winding road to Machu Picchu Citadel to be able to see the sunrise. We use the best guides in Machu Picchu. They are very professional, passionate and well versed in their knowledge about their ancestors. They will pass on articulate insights into the complexities of the architecture, the significance and the fine intricacies of one of the world’s most profound and facinating civilizations. You will have some free time to wander around the ruins at your leisure and then at the designated time we will take a shuttle bus down to Aguas Calientes In the afternoon at the designated time we will take the train from Aguas Calientes back to Poroy. Upon arrival into Poroy train station you will be met and transferred back to your comfortable Cusco hotel.
Breakfast in your hotel. At the designated time you will be picked up from your hotel and transferred to the airport for your departing flight

What to bring to Machu Picchu?
* Your passport! You cannot enter without it!
* Your ticket to Machu Picchu and Machu Picchu or Huayna Picchu Mountain.
* Some money for a passport stamp (s/1), the toilet (S/1) and for souvenirs you may want to buy or for dinner or lunch at the restaurant (expensive).
* A camera (and maybe a selfiestick).
* Good walking shoes.
* A lunchbox and some snacks.
* Sunscreen and/or small foldable umbrella depending on the weather.
What not to bring to Machu Picchu?
* Tripods are not allowed to the historical site. You can leave yours in the lockers outside.
* Professional camera’s are not allowed. Permits for professional camera’s are over $300 so avoid bringing a professional looking camera in.
– You cannot come to Machu Picchu with your travel backpack.
Only smaller models are allowed so leave your backpack in Aguas Calientes if you’re stuck with it. You can pay a hotel a small amount of money to take care of it.
* Walking sticks are not allowed unless the person needs them.
* Only small foldable umbrella’s are allowed so avoid bringing a big umbrella with spikes.
